December 17, 2021
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Ernie Evasiuk on December 17, 2021, at 69 years of age. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Gail, as well as their children Matt (Shandelle) Evasiuk, Mallory (Cam) Baird, Sheldon Evasiuk, and Lindsey Evasiuk (Brady Richardson), and his grandchildren William, Lily and Abel Evasiuk, and Huntley Grace Baird. Ernie had 9 siblings: Mike (Heather) Evasiuk, Merv (Teeta) Evasiuk, Betty (Marv) Shumka, Margaret (Jerry) Pachkowski, Shirley (Ted) Pachkowski, Lawrence (Pam) Evasiuk, John Evasiuk, Andy (Linda) Evasiuk, and Frances (Kelly) Duszik. His In-laws include Bill (Glenda) Houghton, Tom Houghton, Larry (Gloria) Houghton, and Linda (Kevin) Henley. He also has many, many nieces and nephews spanning three generations already, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also a very dedicated friend to so many across this country, from coast to coast. Ernie was predeceased by both of his parents Sophie and Metro Evasiuk, as well as in-laws Gladys and Eric Houghton, and sisters-in-law Kari Evasiuk and Robbie Lynn Houghton. His life passions were spending time reading, or feeling the wind on his face while riding his Harley, enjoying nature and learning about new things...but his favorite of all was the time spent with his family that he adored so much.
Due to the current restrictions, a private family service was held. The service video recording is available on Ernie's obituary page (www.womboldfuneralhomes.com). Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Heart Foundation in Ernie's name.
