Joyce Donna Harriet Redekopp passed away September 4th 2021 at the age of 78. Born to Damos and Hazel Driscoll November 10th 1942, in Halifax Nova Scotia.
Predeceased by her parents, husband Albert Camiel Redekopp, brothers Russell, Kenneth, John Driscoll as well as sister Kathaleen Wournell.
Joyce is survived by her son Kenneth John Redekopp, his wife Cindy and Joyce's granddaughter Lexi Joy Redekopp. Joyce also leaves behind daughter Shelley (Richard) Boileau, granddaughters Phaedra and Amanda Gallant and great grandchildren Bladen and Arcadia.
She will be deeply missed by beloved nieces Christine and Carolyn Wournell and Rose (Glen) Rhondenizer, sister in law Arlene Driscoll and special friend William Campbell.
Joyce worked both as a rescue army medic in Halifax and at the Michener Centre in Red Deer. A dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Joyce held great pride that her mother Hazel Driscoll was the 1988 recipient of the honor of National Memorial (silver) Cross Mother.
Joyce enjoyed watching parades, baking pies, attending the fair with her grandchildren and clients on occasion. She loved travelling to visit family around Canada and eating a good lobster at Peggy's cove. She is also remembered for her many years advocating for the well being of seniors in her community.
Special thanks goes out to the doctors, nurses and caretakers at the following facilities: Family Medical Associates Lacombe, Red Deer Hospital, The Royal Oak Manor and Lacombe Hospital and ambulatory services.
The family also expresses gratitude to those at Shoppers Drug Mart in Lacombe and vehemently to the generous Ms. Carolyn Wournell.
Service have taken place on Friday September 10, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Lacombe, Alberta.
