Juliana Rose Vanderberg (nee Bennefield) and "Baby Georgia Rae".
It is with indescribable sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Julie and baby Georgia Rae in the early hours of January 4, 2021. Our hearts are broken.
Julie leaves behind to mourn her passing, Husband Ryan and her three Children, Bethany Lee, Nathaniel Lee and Shelby Vanderberg. She also leaves behind Parents, Calvin and Laurie Bennefield; Sister Jessica Loucks (Bryce); Niece Samantha Wong; Nephew Brady Wong; Grandmother Shirley Bennefield; Mother-in-law Tracey Gartner; Sisters-in-law, Tabi Vanderberg and Kristie Wolfe; Brother-in-law Chad Vanderberg; not to mention a constellation of friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, colleagues and students.
Julie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, teacher, hockey mom, and on and on. There was never an end of things to marvel about when it came to Julie. She spent her entire teaching career, about eighteen years, in the classrooms of the Ermineskin Elementary School (MESC) in Maskwacis. She was a born educator and so proud of every student and every achievement they made.
She was born in Drayton Valley, raised in Lacombe, and lived her adult life in Wetaskiwin. Julie was predeceased by grandparents, Calvin (Buster) Bennefield, and John and Jean Pluim.
Julie will be forever remembered for her enthusiasm for love, life, and family. We are so grateful for the family and friends who were able to gather in Lacombe this past July for the wedding celebration of Julie and Ryan. It was a beautiful day.
