In Loving Memory ~
Lionel Edward MacPherson, 73, of Clive, Alberta, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024 at Ponoka Centennial Centre.
Lionel was born on October 11, 1950 in Coronation, Alberta. Lionel never let anything slow him down. He lived independently for the majority of his adult years in Clive and enjoyed many activities that kept him busy, including helping out at the Clive Fire Department and Village Office, riding his quad, and collecting bottles.
He even started his own lawn mowing business. He was always looking for ways to make a few extra dollars and to keep busy. As well, he always made time to stop for coffee.
Lionel was known for having a big personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Whether you were a family member, a friend, or a stranger, he always had something to say. Above all, Lionel had faith in God and was an active member of The Clive Baptist Church, where he found a second family in his church community.
Lionel is survived by his sister Jean Tymstra, her husband, Don and niece Tina Colberg (Eric) and sons, Blake and Jacob. He is also survived by two nephews and another niece, Greg Ridley (Tammy) and their son, Brandon (Chantelle); Craig Ridley (Carla) and niece Virginia Neddo (Cory) and their daughter, Katelynn (Devon).
He is also survived by numerous friends and acquaintances from far and wide.
He is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Ivy MacPherson, his sister Muriel Ridley, and his nephew Christopher Tymstra.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on October 4, 2024 at The Clive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Clive Baptist Church, in Lionel's honor
