On January 7, 2022, Michelle Spenst passed away at the age of 52 years.
Michelle spent her childhood in Red Deer and Lacombe, graduating from Parkview Adventist Academy in 1987. A Dental Hygienist by trade, she worked along side her father, Dr. Helmut David Spenst for five years in his clinic in Red Deer.
Michelle moved to Korea for several years, on and off, teaching English as a second language. Michelle returned from Korea and moved back to her childhood home, helping her parents and being caregiver to her mother Martha after the passing of her father, Dr. Spenst, in 2018.
Softball, traveling the globe, shopping, rollerblading and spending time with friends gave Michelle great joy.
Michelle will forever be remembered by her mother, Martha Spenst; brother, David Spenst and sister, Julie (Shawn) Nicol; niece, Cali Nicol; nephews, Andrew Johnson-Spenst and Cannon Nicol; sister-in-law, Elaine (Raul) Johnson-Ramirez as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Michelle was predeceased by her father in August of 2018.
In honour of Michelle, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the S.P.C.A. or to the Saving Grace Animal Society.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, a private family service honouring Michelle's life will be held from the College Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be live-stream broadcast at service time and recorded for viewing at a later time.
