Murray Duckett

Murray Lynn Duckett of Lacombe passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on June 21, 2023 at the age of 65.
Murray was born in Lacombe, Alberta to Gerald and Mary (nee Stewart) Duckett on June 23, 1957. He loved fishing, camping and the Edmonton Oilers. He was a welder by trade having his own shop, Murray's Welding, in Ponoka, then Morrison Welding, Morningside, and Lacombe Welding being his final place of employment before he was unable to continue with welding due to complications from cancer.
Murray is survived by his daughter, Karmyn (Forest) Miller, and their children Madysonn Duckett, Kaleb Duckett and Harlow Miller, Lacombe. His siblings: Ellen (Dave) Thomas, Arizona; Barb Unger, Edmonton; Ken (Bonnie) Duckett, Lacombe; Greg (Trish) Duckett, Lacombe; Karen (Darryl) Abelson, Red Deer; Sandra Duckett, Red Deer; and Rod (Laura) Duckett, Ponoka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Murray is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Duckett (2015), father, Gerald Duckett (2018), nephew, Jason Abelson (2018), and brother-in-law, Tom Altheim (2021).
Funeral Services will be held at Wilson's Funeral Chapel (6120 Hwy 2A, Lacombe) on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
The family of Murray wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to his many doctors over the years, most importantly those who were with him at the end. Dr. Huot, Dr. Saeed, and Dr. Robertson, the Grey Nuns Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Edmonton, Alberta, and the Homecare Unit in Lacombe, Alberta.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Murray's honour may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.
