The children’s classes have started and the kids are settling in very well.
Many have come back but I have a fair number of new children. One of the new children is three and she is a treasure trove of information. Our first week our theme was families and she told me she was the only child. She said that her mom and dad were thinking of having another baby but that she had told them it wasn’t a good idea because she was enough to handle. Then she further expounded that her dad didn’t like his job and he phoned in sick even when he wasn’t! She said that it wasn’t good when he did that but she loved it when he stayed home to play with her. Remember, the walls have ears and they belong to your kids.

When you are ordering books on-line, you may see the option “Mail to your Address”. In the past anyone could access this option and many of our patrons made use of the service. The criteria for this option have changed. To qualify for the “mail to” service you or a person representing you must come to the library and let us know that you qualify to have your items mailed to your address.
If you or your agency would like to partner with the library for a project or a presentation please call the library and we will see if we are able to host or collaborate with your group. Our number is 403-782-3433.
We are taking registrations for our Christmas card-making workshops. For $20 you can make 10 beautiful cards. (5 designs x 2 cards each.) You can join us on Saturday, November 23 or Saturday November 30 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Call or come in to the library to register.
Our novel this week is “Theme Music” by T. Marie Vandelly. This is the author’s first novel and the plot is described as “riveting and disturbing”. Dixie Wheeler returns to her childhood home where her family were killed and she was spared. She was only a year old when the tragedy occurred and she feels compelled to return. “A fierce and intense slice of psychological horror that will leave you vowing: “Never go back”. Louise Candlish. I’m pretty sure it not bedtime reading.
Have a great week.
