Hello readers, it is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new reporter for the Lacombe Express.
My name is Sarah Baker, and I officially started my role in Lacombe at the beginning of April.
I am very excited to be taking on Lacombe, as I grew up in the Central Alberta region and came from a different community on Highway 12 called Castor.
In addition to Lacombe, I will still be covering news in the community where I now work and live, Sylvan Lake.
Before working for Lacombe Express and Sylvan Lake News, I attended Holland College in Charlottetown P.E.I where I got my Diploma in Journalism and Communications.
However, what got me into wanting to do journalism in the first place was my love for writing, reading, and asking questions.
I know I definitely have some big shoes to fill, but I am up to the task and will try and do my best to cover Lacombe's local news, and I am excited about getting to know more about the people, businesses, non-profits, groups, and events that make Lacombe such a great place to be.
