The Blackfalds Bulldogs will be looking for a return to the win column Jan. 14, when they welcome the Spruce Grove Saints to the Eagle Builders Centre.

Blackfalds is coming off a 4-3 loss Wednesday at home to the top-ranked Brooks Bandits. The Bulldogs head into the weekend with their 15-24-1 record, which still has them sitting in sixth in the AJHL South.

The Spruce Grove Saints search for their second consecutive victory tonight when they make their first stop at the Eagle Builders Centre in franchise history. The Saints beat the Pontiacs in Bonnyville in their last matchup 4-1 Wednesday. The Saints are occupying first in the AJHL North with their 31-7-4 record.

Friday’s contest between the Bulldogs and Saints is the last one of the regular season between the two AJHL clubs. Spruce Grove took the first meeting 6-5 back on Oct. 16 at the Grant Fuhr Arena.

Blackfalds Bulldogs forward Carter Yarish had a big night Wednesday against the Brooks Bandits. The Prince George, B.C. product tied the game late in regulation for his seventh goal of the campaign. Yarish has collected four points in his last five games.

Spruce Grove Saints forward Brett Pfoh is on quite the scoring streak. The Port Moody, B.C. product is riding a 14-game point streak entering Friday’s battle in Blackfalds. During that span, he has recorded 21 points.

Following tonight’s game against the Spruce Grove Saints, the Blackfalds Bulldogs will conclude their weekend Saturday on home ice versus the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.
