The U19 AA Sting brought home a bronze medal from the Regina Invitational AA tournament this weekend.
The Sting defeated Regina 2-1 in their opener and then went on to defeat Zone 2 by a score of 8-4. On Saturday morning they tied Manitoba 4-4 before eventually giving way to Calgary 6-2. Calgary went on to win the tournament. The girls will continue with league play before they embark to the Woods Tournament in Edmonton on Grey Cup Weekend.
They will also host their home tournament on Dec. 14-16 in Lacombe. The team consists of girls from Lacombe and Red Deer aged 17-19. The ultimate goal of the team is to make Nationals in PEI in April.
Many of these girls won medals at Nationals in Leduc 2 years ago.
