On April 7, Lacombe Ringette held its end-of-year banquet marking the official end of the season.

For the 2021-2022 season, there were 125 registered players, ranging in age from U6 to U19.

The association handed out two major awards during the evening. Amanda Hatto who has served as the ice allocator for the past six years and as zone 4 president was awarded the honour.

The outstanding athlete of the year award was given to grade 12 student and U19 player, Abby Warner. The association said that Warner earned the award for her dedication and contribution to Lacombe Ringette as both a four-year volunteer junior coach and as a ringette official. She will be furthering her studies in biology and environmental science in the fall, but Warner said that she intends on giving back to the association when time allows.

The end season also marks the end of their ringette careers for some of the players and coaching for Larry Litwin.

The on-ice action is now on hold until August when the Association will hold some “come try ringette,” events for anyone wishing to check out the sport. Details will be posted on the Lacombe Edge Ringette webpage and on the Lacombe Ringette website.
