Five former Lacombe ringette players stood on the blue line for the national anthem with the Lacombe Edge U6 ringette team on March 19.

It was just a small part of the “Come Try Ringette,” day with Lacombe Edge ringette.

Jamie Bell, Dailyn Bell, Emily Otto, Gillian Dreger, Melissa Misutka and other players of WAM! Ringette and Calgary RATH Ringette were in town leading up to Canadian Ringette Championships.

Fans were able to catch a game between the two teams and then an autograph session on Saturday night.

The Edge said that it was great to see so many fans in the stand and that it was a great way to wrap up the ringette season in Lacombe.

Elsewhere in the province, Edge teams were battling it out to make their way to provincials, including the Edge U12A who were in Fort Saskatchewan for their league wind up. The team finished second overall.

The Canadian Ringette Championships will take place in Calgary, from April 3 to 9.
