The Blackfalds Bulldogs will be hosting the 2022 Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) Showcase.

“The Blackfalds Bulldogs are very excited to host the 2022 AJHL Showcase,” said team owners, Doug and Jodie Quinn. “We would like to thank the AJHL for this opportunity and we look forward to presenting our fans a great weekend of hockey. This is amazing for not only our organization, but our community, who has provided the Bulldogs with terrific support.”

The team said that the new barn, the Eagle Builders Centre, a brand-new facility, will be a great space for families to enjoy the great entertainment that the AJHL has to offer. Adding that as the most centrally located AJHL team, only 90-minutes from both Calgary and Edmonton, AJHL fans from all over the province will be able to make a short trip to central Alberta and take in a full day of fast-action hockey throughout the AJHL Showcase event.

“We are excited to use this opportunity to not only highlight our organization, but our community as well by offering fans multiple entertainment options. From live hockey to activities and spaces for kids and families, partnerships with central Alberta tourist attractions, and local food trucks and craft beer tents. We aim to give fans making the trip the chance to experience all the great offerings central Alberta has to offer,” said team management.

“On behalf of the Town of Blackfalds and council, I would like to share our appreciation to the AJHL for allowing the Blackfalds Bulldogs to host the showcase this year in our new facility - an opportunity that I hope will become a tradition in the years to come,” said Jamie Hoover, mayor of Blackfalds. “Not only do we have one of the best facilities in Canada, but I also believe that the hockey community, and our community in general, will bring an unparalleled level of enthusiasm that will make this showcase a huge success.”

All 16 AJHL teams will compete in two regular season games at the 16th annual Showcase, which attracts thousands of fans and over 200 members of the scouting community. The annual showcase of AJHL talent draws coaches and scouts from each National Hockey League (NHL) team, NCAA Division I, II and III schools, as well as Canadian colleges and universities and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL).

A full schedule for the 2022 AJHL Showcase, which will be held at the end of September, will be announced alongside the League Schedule in July 2022.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities and volunteer information will be released in the upcoming weeks.
