The summer months are a time to enjoy outdoor sports and recreation.

Through its EcoVision program, École Secondaire Lacombe Composite High School (ESLCHS) has made the shortlist of Top 10 World’s Best Schools for Environmental Action.

Lacombe Seniors took part in a variety of activities throughout Senior’s Week in Lacombe, June 6 to 10. Lacombe and District Family and Community Support Services (Lacombe FCSS) hosted a variety of programs to ‘get back to play’ including Bocce Ball and an introduction to Corn Hole at the Lacombe Memorial Centre gardens, walking tours, chair yoga, and a movie matinee featuring Field of Dreams. For the past 18 years, the students at Lacombe Upper Elementary School (LUES) have raised funds to impact the lives of children around the world through A Better World (ABW). This year they participated in a program to fundraise and help buy desks for children in Kenya and on May 31 they presented a cheque for $652. The donation was matched by ABW, totalling $1,300 will be used to buy desks, enough to furnish one classroom for 40 children.(Submitted)
